BIO
I am a fashion designer fascinated by the intimate threads that connect people. I design with the urge of filling garments with memory, infusing emotions, personal stories and the attachments they carry.
Influenced and inspired by collective experiences that shape and transform people on a social level, my work explores the effects of trauma and loss of agency through feelings of laceration, disorientation, manipulation. By visualizing and processing pains that were put to the specific group of people in history, I created the memorializing moment for grieving and regrowth, with the concept of reconstruction in terms of using garments as a medium.
In ”Touch Me From Afar”, I translated images from family and friends into customized silk screen patterns on fabric for garments, turning memories into wearable art. I sewed the garment from thermal fabric, which leaves a red shadow when touched to explore the sense of touch from a distance by adding a tactile layer to my creations.
Currently, I am excited by the intersection of fashion and technology. I am exploring wearable components by turning human vital signs into visualized and recognizable movements on garments. As I delve deeper into the concepts of connection despite distance, vulnerability shows as well. With every stitch line, my work aims to create innovative, personal, and interactive experiences for wearers - saving the pieces of memory as time capsules.
